Gustave Courbet - practice sketch using charcoal
This was another practice sketch that I did from Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, by Betty Edwards, back in 2005 when I was trying to get back into art after a 30-year break.
This little exercise was based on copying a portrait of Gustave Corbet, and it introduced the use of charcoal with a little bit of shading here and there.
