Judging by the amount of steel, this is going to be yet another pretty substantial building - crammed into a very small plot of land. Corner of Santa Monica and Adriatico Street, Ermita, Manila - December 20191 point -

From the album: Welcome, to the Shinkansen!
Another awesome train at Kokura Station. (I used to be a train-spotter, you know? Does it show?!!) ? ? ? Shinkansen 新幹線 (pronounced: Shin-Kan-Sen) refers to the rail system, not the trains that run on it! 新幹線 translates, word-for-word as "New trunk line" - in other words, it's a dedicated high speed rail network. When I was in school, we used to call the trains that ran on the Shinkansen, "Bullet Trains" (Some people still do!) Here's an East-bound or "Up" train at Kokura Station in Kita Kyushu - on a very brief stop before hurtling off towards Tokyo.1 point -

From the album: The statues: Hogmoor Inclosure photos
A kaleidoscope of colour! An old sandstone embankment where, after years of Army tanks driving past on their training missions, a deep passage has been carved through some slightly elevated ground. I find the sheer variety of mosses and lichens that now cover these banks to be absolutely fascinating - especially when you look at them in close-up detail. The Hogmoor Enclosure nature reserve in Hampshire, South of England.1 point -

Well... What can I say?!! This fellow's backside kind of stares you in the face when you sit on the "perfect spot" bench in the Hogmoor Inclosure, Whitehill, Hampshire in the South of England. This particular wooden statue - or sculpture, if you prefer - was photographed looking towards a dried-up pond in the vicinity of the radio mast at the Southern end of the Inclosure. More information on the Hogmoor Inclosure can be found here: https://www.princephilippark.co.uk/community/spaces/hogmoor-inclosure/1 point -

(My title!!) Photo of a Mike Herera painting that I saw in one of the art galleries in Ermita, Manila - sometime in February 2005 The painting is a watercolour and it was framed behind glass, so I do apologise for the reflection of the strip light in the gallery.© Mike Herera estate

From the album: Drawings and sketches
This was a practice sketch that I made back in 2005 when I first started trying to get back into art. My inspiration was a really good book that managed to convince me that I could draw! Personally, I think that this is the one book that every aspiring artist should read, before anything else... The book is called Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and, after 15 years, I would still highly recommend it.1 point -

From the album: Bangkok
Standard fare for me in Bangkok - especially when I have a hangover! Love Scene is a geat little place. Very close to Soi Cowboy. Directly opposite a 7-11, if anyone is interested! Just look for the two statues of ladies making the wai gesture outside the entrance. Go down the little passageway beside the kitchen. 'Looks a bit dodgy but well worth it when you get inside!1 point -

Or you always hop on a motocycle taxi. That's probably the quickest way around town. But you'll need to keep you elbows and knees tightly in, hold on for grim death - and don't forget to bring your own helmet!1 point -

Jumong is just incredible! This shot of Jumong and Shoubi playing silly buggers, (as usual!) was taken just 18 hours after Jumong was stabbed in the kneck by a drug-crazed neighbor of mine. One of the guard dogs at the Madilosa family residence in Davao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines. (I sometimes stay with the madilosa family when I am in that part of the country.) Total "askal" (aso kalye - lit. "street dog") this one! Very nervous at first and took a long time before it really got used to me. I was eventually able to take it for short walks but it really didn't like being too far from familiar territory1 point -

My mate, Tim Penycate's dog. Another RSPCA rescue dog. Not a pedigree but pretty well pure German Shepherd. (I'm not sure where the crooked tail comes from but it in no way alters the fact that Benj is one of the most handsome dogs that I have ever come across!) Here he is, full of energy and really enjoying a day out on M.o.D land at Woolmer Forest, Whitehill, Hampshire, in the South of England, UK1 point
