  1. Well... Like most people, I haven't had a lot of travel to write about over the last year. I finally got off a cable ship where I had been stranded for months, in Dubai on the 2nd of June 2020 - and I have been in sunny Somerset ever since. Added to that, I have had a severe bout of illness, (not Covid), for the last three months, whereby I have been virtually housebound - with or without travel restrictions. Anyway, it is still cold but the sun is shining. There are signs of spring all around - and I am finally well "on the mend" from the illness that I have been suffering from. Step by step... (Or pedal by predal!) The first thing that I am really looking forward to is being able to get out on my bike as the weather continues to improve. Then maybe, just maybe; we can start looling at some travel, photography - and maybe even some art!! Here are some photos that I took out and about on my bike last summer.

  2. The Longmoor Military Railway was an extensive military railway system around the Bordon area of Hampshire until the late 1960s and early 1970s. Before the main railway was built, an old narrow gauge line used to exist for moving military equipment, but this was lifted over 120 x years ago. This is one of the old narrow gauge rails abandoned at that time which is shown by the tree has actually grown around the rail!
