  6. And finally, one of my own pictures! OK, the Pac G doesn't look her best in this shot - but those rust streaks are the result of some hard work in the North Atlantic. (The ship had just got into port after several weeks at sea, travelling up from Bermuda and then working on a submarine telecoms cable repair off Newfoundland) Photo taken in April, 2007 by Vic Rolfe

  11. Photo taken on a bright, sunny but windy day in, 2007. This photo marks the end of an era - not only for the c.s. (cable ship) Wave Venture but for the old Cable and Wireless Marine, (latterly Global Marine Systems,) Victoria Station. At the time this photo was taken, Wave Venture was loading cable from the depot and preparing to leave Victoria - probably for the last time...

  26. Second Officer, Vic Rolfe ("Yours Truly,") (AKA Inspector Cluso! )very hard at work aboard the cable repair ship c.s. Pacific Guardian, on a telecommunications cable repair in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. I very foolishly left the Philipppines in the heat of April and thinking that I was heading for sunny Bermuda - with no cold weather gear whatsoever. I got a very rude awakening when I realised that the ship would be heading for the Northern part of the North Atlantic!! (The "I've been to London" wooly hat was an emergency purchase in London's Gatwick airport!! Photo by STE ( C ) - (otherwise known as a Second Cable Engineer!) - Fred Logan
