Camber Dock is in Portsmouth a city on the South Coast of England. It is an important military and commercial port, and the home of the UKโs Royal Navy. In this shot from Camber Dock, the landmark Spinnaker Tower, Ben Ainslie Sailing Centre, Gunwharf Ferry Terminal and the wonderful Bridge Tavern can be seen against the backdrop of the passing storm clouds. High tide is also approaching as can be seen by the water levels in the Dock.

Bath City appeal in vain for a โHandballโ offence in their 2-1 defeat to Aldershot Town in the FA Cup at Aldershot. This was Aldershotโs first goal of the afternoon and the tie was won in the 8th minute of stoppage time with Aldershotโs second goal. The FA Cup is the oldest โKnockoutโ football competition in the world having been founded in the 19th Century. This is also the first time Aldershot have met Bath City in a โSeniorโ game and the first time an Aldershot side have met a Bath City side in any competition since 1939!

From the album: Spinning, knitting and weaving
A half-finished natural brown undied Alpaca wool, hand-knitted scarf. Well, that's as far as I can go with t for now... At the time of writing, I am onboard a ship and I have completely run out of spinning fibre - and I've used up all the wool that I made in the first 6 weeks of this trip! Baby Alpaca pure wool, natural brown, 3-ply, hand-spun using a drop spindle2 points -

I will make a blog post soon about this content before I post more of these โบ๏ธ But just for a glimpse, those boxes came from a chinese company called Kayou, which makes licensed collectible cards. Each booster box has cards of different rarities, with some being rarer than others. SP is one of the rarer ones you can pull, since it's not guaranteed from the box I got this from.1 point

This artwork focuses on the penguin as a symbol of resilience and adaptability. Depicted in its natural habitat, the penguin embodies the beauty of survival in harsh environments. The contrasting colors of its sleek black and white feathers against the icy landscape emphasize its uniqueness. Through this piece, I aim to evoke feelings of warmth and wonder, inviting viewers to appreciate not only the penguinโs charm but also the larger themes of community and perseverance in the face of challenges.1 point

An Emirates Airbus A-380 coming-in to land at London Heathrow Airport on the afternoon of 12th December, 2023 Photo taken from a 6th floor room, (facing the farm on the other side of the Great South-West Road) - at the Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Airport, Eastern Perimeter Rd, Hatton Cross Hounslow TW6 2SQ GB The Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Airport - (not to be confused with the one at Terminals 2 and 3) - is VERY close to the Eastern approach to the Southerly of the two runways at LHR - and it's a great place for plane-spotting in comfort!1 point

A beautiful study of Island Lineโs Unit 484 002 waiting at Ryde St Johns Road Station with the setting Sun casting its golden rays on the train and the wet track. After 2 x days of heavy rain, the track about a mile away is heavily flooded and sadly the train will be going nowhere for the rest of the day.

Thank you, Vic, for the membership. I couldn't see anywhere to post an intro. so I thought I'd do it here with an odd rag bag of pics. I chose the image server because of the large thumbnails and wouldn't invite anyone without a pop-up blocker to click on them - it's not an attempt at spamming, it's just that any decent image server tends to ban me.1 point

Whatever happened to uncommon sense? Don't give up on the human race just yet unless you and I are the only ones left who are perfect. Ask yourself what you do which might well fall outside the concept of 'sense', common or not. Do you believe in fairies, santa or god? How often do you thank 'luck' for your good fortune or blame someone else for your misfotunes? When was the last time you drank to excss or had a cigarette or ate too much, or self-medicated. How often do you believe what you hear without question, especially if its from a friend? When did you last have a premonition or deja voi? Do you read your stars, or have your fortune read or talk to the dead or not listen to the living? Sense isn't always common and common isn't always sense. Education provides the basis for good sense. Those who assume they know it all might well do with a lesson or 2 in the basics.1 point
