  2. This has also been a struggle of mine, especially online. If however you would like to go the gallery route, here are some great articles that discuss this entire process. And it does work. I need to update my own blog as I now have had a 4th gallery contact me to represent my work, all based on a mailing of an art package and brochure! Art Marketing 101

  4. It took years for me to learn some very basic stuff about photographing my art. Todays point and shoot digital cameras are so much better, but be careful, there are some very special features that you really have got to have in order to shoot oil paintings. One feature that will allow you to get about 95% glare out of the print! Using a CPL filter, circular polarizing lens. More info here on how to get the lens for your camera, or at least what to look for on the camera to see if you can even add it! What features to look for in a digital camera and more info on actually shooting the work. Shooting your own work the easy way!

  7. Here is a little bit of fruit art and a poll on which appeals to most people. Go ahead, and vote! I used the Flemish technique in painting these. They are all 8" X 10" oils on masonite board. Apple 1 Apple 2 Apple 3 So which will it be? Go ahead and click on a thumbnail, this forum is fantastic in that it will blow the picture up for you to see all the details! WOW! Great hoogly moogly! I wish my site had this capability! Interested in learning this technique?
  8. Sorry it's taken awhile, been busy and had to dig up the pic files Here's the completed painting and a few closeups. Hope this is helpful to folks in understanding this really simple technique of oil painting!   9. I have done the first layer of color on this. About 6 hours of work! and the drape, tea pot, and rose will need very little work to complete! Here is a few close ups of the reference photo. All is needed are my water drops and a few highlights! Check out my site for more information on how to use this technique!

  11. Here's a new piece I've started with the 7 layer flemish technique for those interested in this classic style of painting! Let me know what you think!
