One of the guard dogs at the Madilosa family residence in Davao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines. (I sometimes stay with the madilosa family when I am in that part of the country.) I don't think this dog has a name - I just call him "Scruffy!" He's looking very pleased with himself here as he has just got back from a long walk around the rice paddies! -

My second dog, Bruce. An RSPCA resue dog, he spent many a happy year in the fairly large garden of our old house in Bordon, Hampshire, (UK) Bruce was a guard dog par-excellence - but at the same time, he was also unbelievably good with children. I remember hearing a whimpering noise one time... I went into the sitting-room to find my then 2 year-old daughter sitting on his back twisting and pulling his long fur. Not even a warning growl - he just lay there whimpering. He wouldn't even stand up for fear of tipping my daughter off his back and hurting her... -

It doesn't matter at all, that the photo is blurred... In this case, (and the one with "the kid") it actually adds to the effect. The important thing here is that you saw a scene worth photographing, you took the shot and you caught a moment in time forever!

You definitely have an eye for shapes and symbolism. In my imagination, that tree is like a man, standing all alone by the side of the road - a syou speed by in your car... The back of the seat, reflected in the window glass is just perfect.
