  1. From the album: The statues: Hogmoor Inclosure photos

Well... What can I say?!! This fellow's backside kind of stares you in the face when you sit on the "perfect spot" bench in the Hogmoor Inclosure, Whitehill, Hampshire in the South of England. This particular wooden statue - or sculpture, if you prefer - was photographed looking towards a dried-up pond in the vicinity of the radio mast at the Southern end of the Inclosure. More information on the Hogmoor Inclosure can be found here: https://www.princephilippark.co.uk/community/spaces/hogmoor-inclosure/
  2. From the album: The statues: Hogmoor Inclosure photos

As a friendly passer-by said to me whilst I was sitting on that bench enjoying the early summer's evening sunshine: "You've got the perfect spot there Mate!" And very nice it was too. The photo was taken in the vicinity of the radio mast at the Southern end of the Hogmoor Inclosure. More information on the Hogmoor Inclosure can be found here: https://www.princephilippark.co.uk/community/spaces/hogmoor-inclosure/
  3. Catch 22, The Choir Boys and, of course, Lord of the Rings are three more of the unforgettable books that I have read in my life. All of these are due for a re-read when I get old and retired - and I have the time... (Or, before - if I ever master the art of speed reading!!)
  4. Hi Edwardo! When were you last on artfreaks.com?

It's time to pay us a visit!!

  5. The camerawoman behind the camera! artfreaks.com member Chai, is now a very busy camerawoman... She leads a rather hectic life and her work takes her all around the world. Chai was the camerawoman behind the Youtube clip below. This one is hot off the press from Hong Kong - and now, she tells me that she is already in Malaga!! Apparently, this is a Youtube show about the Fintech Finance Payments Race: ‘Round the World 2019. It's mostly what they call "corporate advertainment", apparently... Four contestants, each with the same budget have to make it around the world using only ONE payment method for everything; cash, card, mobile payment or cryptocurrencies. Chai is filming one of the contestants here, in Hong Kong - and the pair of them seem to have been having a wonderful time!!
  6. 2005!! Now that's a blast from the past! Back in the good old days when artfreaks.com was actually doing quite well... I have just been clearing out some old guff and a load of old spam from the forums - which was posted years ago when I was busy with my day job and I just didn't have the time to deal with it. This inane post should have gone the same way but I am a sentimental old fellow and I just couldn't bring myself to erase this little bit of internet history!!
  7. 'Any update on those courses? Please let me know if you are planning to run a workshop or art course for soft pastels? Thanks! And keep up the good work!!
  8. Come back, Mylap!! It's time to post an update on your Manila art workshops for kids!! How about some photos too?!
  9. If anyone is actually making any money out of selling their art - and especially if they are making a living at it, then I would love to hear from you! Personally, I just do it for fun. But, then again, it would be rather nice to get a little bit of beer money for all of my efforts!!
  10. It's good to see that your blogspot blog is still going. Interesting stuff! Don't forget to drop by here from time to time too. We miss you!!
  11. Ah, OK!! Thanks for that. ('Looks like a minor typo in the topic title, then...) I was just trying to get some activity going in the forums... Don't ask me why but for some reason, the image view counters and a whole lot of other stuff with the site will not update unless we get some activity by logged-in members in the forums? I have been told by the developers of the software on which the site runs, that I can set up some "cron jobs" on the server. Whatever that means?!! But that sort of stuff is all a bit over my head... I have also been busy in the forums deleting some old dead and spammy links. Apparently, Google doesn't like that sort of stuff. (It's probably one reason why artfreaks.com has all but disappeared off the radar...) I've got a lot of work to do there, as the site has been around for quite a while now and it accumulated a lot of junk in the past. We will get there in the end!
  12. Work sounds good to me right now... I just need to watch out for those lying recruiters!!
  13. This is an awesome site for anyone who is remotely interested in any form of art - including amateur photographers, budding poets, sculptors, caricature and comic artists, film-makers - you name it!!
  14. Another nice sunset photo from Tim Penycate. This one was taken in the wintertime and the view is looking up the hill on the Liphook road, coming into Whitehill on a walk back from the Royal Oak pub in Hollywater.

  15. I already have a topic in the Forums on the subject of some good photography book recommendations, so I am not going to duplicate what I have already written there. Of course, the best way to start taking great photos is to get out there with your camera and start shooting! However, most of us can also use a bit of a grounding in the basics - or even some of the more advanced techniques. And there is nothing like a good book on a cold, wet and windy day, now, is there?! If any member would like to share the details of any great photography books that they have come across, they are encouraged to do so here - either by way of a reply to this article or by publishing a new article of their own. Members can also, of course, start a new topic in the artfreaks.com forums, if they prefer: https://www.artfreaks.com/forums/forum/9-photography/ More input from the members of this community site for artists and photographers will always be appreciated! Thank you!
  16. Thank you for that, Delmus! 'All good advice. By the way... If any logged-in member is browsing this articles section of the site and they find that they keep getting logged out... Just try hitting the "refresh" button on your browser. That should solve the problem... (My apologies for the inconvenience but I am not a software developer - just a struggling website owner. We will get this thing sorted out one day or another!!)

  18. Check this out! It's a stunning, gorgeous work of art depicting a surreal sunset, (or sunrise?) scene with a lake, a mountain and some very beautiful landscape scenery: Mano Alii Computer Art By Satoshi Matsuyama
  19. Having deleted some dead links from the post above, I see that the remaining ones are still working. Please do check them out as Satoshi Matsuyama-san has some stunning work. 'Well worth a look!
  20. Hi Rodny, "Page not found?" Could you upload your images directly to artfreaks.com and reinsert them in your post? Thanks!
  21. Please feel free to start a blog here at artfreaks.com - And don't worry about keeping up with it! Just post whenever you are in the mood and you have the time. (Just like my own blog... sometimes I don't update it from one year to the next. It doesn't matter - it's not going anywhere!!) I think it is much better to just post something when you are in the right frame of mind and you have something to say... Here at artfreaks.com, there is no pressure to do anything. It's one of the benefits of belonging to a website that has a very lazy owner!! ?
