  1. Soi cowboy.. Best place to learn! 'Beats sitting in a classroom - the view is much nicer!! And you can have a cold beer while you are at it! 'Best thing with Namwaan is she really dosen't speak English... For me, that really helps. When I was in language school, most of the conversation was in English, so I really didn't learn a lot...

Namwaan is the best teacher of the Thai language that I ever had! She is a star! Very bright too... And Soi Cowboy is as good a venue for lessons as any. 'Only place I know where you can have a beer during lesson time!
  3. From the album: Bangkok

Standard fare for me in Bangkok - especially when I have a hangover! Love Scene is a geat little place. Very close to Soi Cowboy. Directly opposite a 7-11, if anyone is interested! Just look for the two statues of ladies making the wai gesture outside the entrance. Go down the little passageway beside the kitchen. 'Looks a bit dodgy but well worth it when you get inside!

Bangkok night life - A couple of very attractive, pretty young ladies enjoying wine and seafood at Wine Republic, Soi 10, Thonglor Road, Bangkok
  5. From the album: Bangkok

An early evening shot of the temple, taken from the steps leading up to Ekamai BTS station. What look like thousands of fairy lights are actually reflections off the gold leaf...

Or you always hop on a motocycle taxi. That's probably the quickest way around town. But you'll need to keep you elbows and knees tightly in, hold on for grim death - and don't forget to bring your own helmet!
  7. From the album: Bangkok

These little stalls seem to spring-up all over the place in Bangkok. One day, it's just an empty space... The next, it is a bustling hive of activity. I love Bangkok!
  8. From the album: Bangkok

A heavy downpour clears the Soi in an instant. But the lights stay on and the party goes on inside the bars! (Sorry! Pictures not allowed inside...)
  9. From the album: Bangkok

รถติดในถนนรัชดาภิเษก กรุงเทพมหานคร This is not as bad as it looks. Traffic is stacked up but when it gets moving, it keeps moving for quite a bit. And there's always the Skytrain if you want to avoid traffic jams. Or, my favourite - the motorcycle taxis!
  10. From the album: Bangkok

The only time I ever get up early enough to get this kind of shot, is when I haven't even been to bed yet,in the first place! Photo taken from The Lily Residence, sukhumvit Soi 68, Bangkok - some time in 2015
  11. From the album: Aerial Photography

With Laguna de Bay in the background. The photo was taken on a flight into Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, sometime in 2016
  12. Well thanks for your perseverence!! Most would would have just given up and found another site at the very first technical hitch. It's been a nightmare really... If you get any more problems, I have actually got the Contact Us page working now - (under Pages, strangely enough!) There is an email address there, whereby you can contact me directly if you get any more issues with the site...
  13. From the album: Cats

A rather handsome-looking cat that I came across in Lumphini Park, Bangkok - some time in 2014 or 2015? Looks in pretty good shape for a stray, so I presume someone is looking after it?!!

    Old Stuff!

    Not necesarily antiques... just OLD!
  15. From the album: Old Stuff!

I couldn't resist photographing this! 'Not sure I'd want it in my living room. Mainly because I have a phobia about having wildlife in the house! This must have been a very fine piece of furniature in it's day. And I can't help wondering what stories it could tell...
  16. From the album: Old Stuff!

A very old but totally captivating piece of furniture - part of a Pronto display at the Glass Quartier, in Bangkok. Full marks to the designer of this display. Even the old bits of carpet... It is a real work of art!

    People Photography and Street Scenes

Just a few photos that I managed to grab whilst out people watching. I stopped taking these a while ago, when I decided to upgrade to a DSLR camera - which, of course, I never have with me, when I need it... (Previuosly, I had been using a nice little compact camera that used to live on my belt all the time...) Nowadays, of course, we are in the smartphone era. So it's back in to the street photography for me!
  18. From the album: People Photography and Street Scenes

Getting ready for work!! Just another night in Soi Cowboy, Bangkok! I am sure this girl has something else to wear. But this is where she works. The evening is just revving-up - and she thinks nothing of walking around in just her bra and panties, while buying some new clothes for the night!
