  1. From the album: Manila, Philippines

The two towers in the background are the Robinsons Place Residences in Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila. The run-down building in the mid-ground is one of the many cheap apartment blocks in M.H. Del Pilar Street Photo taken from near Roxas Blvd. in April, 2005

  4. I love photos with lots of wires in them!! 'Lots of wires around the streets in Manila... I used to find the tangled mess of wires outside my room in the hotel where I used to live, totally amazing. I could sit there and contemplate them for half an hour whilst smoking a fine cigar - interspersed with a bit of people watching in the street below. (Especially whenever any nice "totty" happened to walk by!) The view from outside my room at Hotel La Corona
  5. Nice house. I love the balcony. (Ideal for an early morning cup of coffee or sitting and smoking a nice cigar whilst watching the sun go down!)
  6. Cement rendered? ...or Cement and pebble dash rendered?

  8. Interesting stuff. There's a lot to think about here... I'm not too worried about selling any of my own art. I only do pastel paintings for my own personal fulfillment. I did have a little exhibition once. I could have sold a couple of pieces but withdrew the whole lot from sale when a potential customer tried to haggle over prices that hardly even covered the cost of my materials: smb's Blog > A Disastrous First Exhibition In short, I have never ever sold a single painting - and I don't expect to, either. (Mind you, if I could sell just the one, then at least I could be in the "same boat" as Van Gogh!!) Haha!! Interesting what you said about physical art galleries, though. On and off, over the last few years, I have been slowly building-up a small collection paintings by Filipino artists who's works I like. The intention was to have enough to be able to open a small art gallery when I retire... Well never mind, I can always make it more of a free coffee shop for socialites and other time-wasters! There, is however a lot of scope for improving the online Store here at ArtFreaks.com. (You wouldn't even know there was one here unless you were looking for it. The current set-up is in a stand-alone part of the site and it is not integrated with the Forums...) The new set-up will be fully integrated with the Forums and, hopefully, it will allow all Full Members of the Forums to sell their art here. That's a project for a later date though. Just watch this space!

Basically, with the existing albums in the Art and Photography (Collaborative) sections of the Gallery - you just need to be at the index page for the album that you want to upload images to. You will only see an upload link when you are at the index page...

    Hopefully, this should explain things:

(My apologies for the fact that some of the info. is really basic. The guide was intended to be of use to those with very limited knowledge of computers...)

  11. 'Sounds interesting! So what is cabochon?
  12. Nice to see that you have started to put the new camera to good use!!
  13. Selling can be fun... If you ever actually manage to sell anything!
  14. Thanks for posting the background info. regarding Paco Gorospe and your particular painting!
  15. In my opinion, a painting's only financial value is what you can actually get for it when you sell it. If that painting means so much to you, it could be worth half a million or even a million pesos to you. But actually selling it is another mater. Following-on from that; since - (and I am guessing here) - you would be unlikely to actually want to ever sell the painting - you will never really know its true worth. I have several Paco Gorospe paintings which I would be quite happy to sell for 65,000 to 100,000 pesos but I have never even came close to actually getting a genuine buyer for any of them...

  21. Ah. Got it! Actually, when I saw your SPAWN image - I thought that was the radical art... (As in something totally different from most people's conceptions of everyday art.) Yeah... Interesting position, that. I have often said that many countries function despite their governments - not because of them...
