Bath City appeal in vain for a “Handball” offence in their 2-1 defeat to Aldershot Town in the FA Cup at Aldershot. This was Aldershot’s first goal of the afternoon and the tie was won in the 8th minute of stoppage time with Aldershot’s second goal. The FA Cup is the oldest “Knockout” football competition in the world having been founded in the 19th Century. This is also the first time Aldershot have met Bath City in a “Senior” game and the first time an Aldershot side have met a Bath City side in any competition since 1939!© Tim Penycate

2J53 formed with an unidentified Class 450 Desiro, pulls away toward a “Double Yellow” Signal at Aldershot on its way from Platform 1 to Guildford. In the meantime 2A95 has finished its journey from London Waterloo on Platform 3. The floodlights from Aldershot Town FC can be seen in the distance.

Due to industrial action there are no trains at Aldershot in this night shot. However Aldershot Town FC are about to play Welling United at the nearby Recreation Ground (and win 3-0) and the floodlights and station lights show a colourful scene on a cold December night.

Aldershot record a magnificent 5-1 victory over FC Halifax in the English Conference National. The game was on “Live” TV with BT Sport, and this probably explains whilst in bright Sunlight, the floodlights are on!

The 2022-2023 Season has started on a hot Saturday afternoon in Aldershot. A very dismal afternoon sees Aldershot in red lose 4-1. The Season finishes in April 2023, so things hopefully will get better!

A horrendous injury to the Aldershot Town Goalkeeper has delayed the game v Eastleigh by some 25 x minutes. The player was taken to hospital and has made a full recovery. In a bizarre twist the substitute Goalkeeper was also stretchered off later in the game which saw Aldershot lose 2-0.

After safely guarding the section of railway between Bagshot and Camberley (on the line from Ascot to Aldershot) for almost 50 x years, Signal F337 will be replaced in mid April 2022. F337 appeared in about 1974 when the then new Feltham Area Signalling Centre went fully live.

When a defending player commits a "Foul" in the Penalty area ( an area of 25 x yards in front of a goal) an unapposed "Penalty" Kick is taken with only the Goalkeeper standing in the way! Usually, but not always, it results in a Goal and here Aldershot go 1-0 up in the big local game between them and Woking. The game, on Boxing Day, 2021 ends all square at 1-1!
