From the album: Paco Gorospe Paintings
This image of a beautiful semi-abstract painting by the late Filipino painter, Paco Gorospe, was sent to me by a member of the Dequito family - and it is reproduced here with their very kind permission. The painting depicts carabao, (water buffalo,) their herders and some rural folk going about their daily life on a farm in the Philippines. The following information was also supplied with the image:-

Carabao in a wet Rice Field - getting ready for planting
smb posted a gallery image in Members Albums - Index Page
From the album: Davao del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines
Carabao and farm worker plantsahin ('ironing,' or smoothing out the soil) in a palayan (rice field,) near to the Madilosa residence in Davao del Sur. "Plantsahin" is the final operation that uses a carabao (water buffalo) in the preparation of the palayan before transplanting the young rice seedlings. The Madilosa's are a very kind family that I stay with whenever I get the chance to visit them at the farm that they work; in a remote village in Mindanao, in the Southern part of the Philippines.-
