  1. 'Bit of an obvious image title - but, sometimes, less is more!! 'Just a not so big cumulous cloud, out in the Pacific Ocean - somewhere in the generl area of the Northern Mariana Islands. (Just after the sun had had gone down - with one edge of the cloud glowing in a lovely salmony-pink from a glorious sunset!) I was at the wrong end of the ship - (doing my evening exercises!) - to get a decent shot of the sunset, but I will upload what I have, anyway... Rain has Passed.

Several heavy rain showers have affected North Hampshire and Whitehill. The rain has passed, but the clouds that brought some of them are now backlit by the setting Sun. This picture is taken from the Bordon and Whitehill Relief Road which follows the course of the old Railway that used to pass through the area.

    Cumulus Nimbus

The hottest day on record in Manila in April 2024 sees a huge thunderstorm building to the North of the city. Unfortunately it came to nothing and the city went on sweltering. This view from Bonifacio Garden City appears to show a flying saucer, but it is likely a reflection of a light from within the building where the picture was taken.

  4. The opposite side of the Basingstoke Rainbow, over the railway tracks. Is the crock of gold here at RAF Odiham appx 5 x miles away from where the rainbow appears to end?

  5. A heavy shower has passed over Basingstoke and the setting Sun is now pitching in from the West producing this beautiful bright rainbow. Is the crock of gold inside the building? Sadly not!

  6. It is Half Time at the Recreation Ground and Aldershot are 1-0 down to local rivals Woking FC. The Sun has almost gone and dusk is gathering backlighting the clouds and producing this atmospheric shot of the sky and the floodlights.

  7. Traditionally there is said to be a crock of gold at the end of a rainbow. Perhaps this is proof it's really where one comes from?

A beautiful tropical sunset over the mountains of Zambales province in the Island of Luzon, Philippines I really love these kind of dramatic skies and the weird lighting that you get at dusk after a heavy downpour in the tropics Photo taken from on board the Global Marine Systems Ltd. cable ship, c.s.
