    Crock of Gold?

The end of the main rainbow seems to come to ground in the Forest Centre in Bordon, England. Despite looking hard, the author could not find the promised crock of gold!

    Double Rainbow

A bright sunny November day is briefly interrupted by a heavy rain shower, which produced this beautiful double rainbow over Bordon in England.

  3. Taken in Hampshire, Southern England on a Sunny Autumn morning, the sky is busy with flights heading West and East. Many of the vapour trails are Transatlantic flights but also many are heading to/from Spain according to “Flightradar.”

    Inline Hockey!

Played to the same rules as Ice Hockey, but on skates, this is an action shot from Mustangs 5-4 victory over Oxford Blue. This was played at Bisley in Surrey, England!

  5. The Hogmoor Inclosure is a beautiful area of heathland in Hampshire England which after years of military use, was given over to the local council in 2016. The Inclosure is the home to many protected species of animals and one of these are bats. This is the Hogmoor Bat Roost at Sunset on a beautiful late Summer’s evening. This location also appears in this gallery in a shot taken in 2020.

  6. This is the County boundary entering into West Sussex from Hampshire at Hammer. 3 x Counties meet in the locality but the actual boundary with the county of Surrey exists in the nearby forest to the North East. In the background of this shot, the incline to the railway bridge over the London to Portsmouth line can be seen.

  7. There are over 40 x Counties in England. Just outside Haslemere, 3 of those come together in the village of Hammer. This is a picture of the sign coming from West Sussex into Hampshire. For a short time, this area had a sign saying “Hammer Bottom” which people kept stealing because of the innuendo!

  8. A beautiful action shot of a Magpie caught on the Home CCTV of the author in Hampshire, England. Wonder if Alfred Hitchcock is interested! 😃

  9. This is the Keep of Guildford Castle in Surrey, South East England, which was established in the 13th Century and was the County Gaol for many years until at least the 18th Century. Although the earthworks remain, many of the castle features have now vanished, but the Keep remains.

  10. Guildford is regarded as the “County Town” of the County of Surrey in South East England. This view is taken from the ruins of Guildford Castle and looks across the town to the Cathedral on Stag Hill around 2 x miles away. Guildford is often mistakenly considered as a city as it has a Cathedral, but although the granting of city status has been applied for in the past, the Royal Warrant has never been given.
