A short lived narrow gauge railway used to make its way across the Hogmoor Inclosure for military purposes. After closure and dismantling in the early years of the 20th Century, the route returned to nature, but is still clearly visible. Rowan Ash with berries, Oak and Scots Pine trees along with ferns and gorse now line the old route seen here looking towards the setting Sun.© Tim Penycate

The Sun is setting casting a golden glow onto the Scot’s Pine trees in the Hogmoor Inclosure. It is already past 20:30hrs and the Sun is very low in the sky.

It is said that a lot of holly berries mean a hard winter ahead. These berries were photographed in the Hogmoor Closure on Sunday 28/11/2021 and about 7 x hours later a snowstorm swept over the area!
