About Me

  1. Well, it's nighttime, so you might expect it to be dark! Having said that, dark nights are no longer a given, these days, with all the light pollution around in the world these days... An atmospheric shot, I thought, with the nearly full moon reflecting it's soft light on a calm tropical Pacific Ocean Photo taken from onboard the Cable Ship SEGERO - somewhere near the Northern Marianas Islands.

  2. Sometimes ships work in sunset photos - and sometimes they don't! I did try to crop this one but when I removed the ship from the photo - whilst trying to maintain a sensible aspect ratio - I found I was losing some of that lovely glow of the sunset reflected in the water. So I decided to just leave the photo as it is! Pacific Ocean - somewhere near the Northern Marianas Photo taken from onboard the Cable Ship SEGERO

  3. Culver Down is a cliff at the Eastern side of the Isle of Wight. Heavy rain over the city of Portsmouth (north of Culver and across the Solent) and sunshine from the Isle of Wight creates a rainbow over the cliff.

  4. Rain is still evident across the Solent, but all is calm across Sandown Bay looking towards Culver.

  5. From the album: My paintings

Trying out new mediums. Acrylic on stretched canvas
  6. An early evening shot of some container ships at anchor outside Chesapeake Bay - set against a beautiful backdrop of a bright orange sky. Just after sunset. February 2022
  7. Ballygalley Head, just North of Larne in Northern Ireland - as seen from CS Sovereign on a fine sunny day in January, 2022
  8. Due to shipping movements in and out of Portsmouth Harbour, Wight Ryder 2 had to make slightly longer sailing to the East of Spitbank Fort on the 15:45 crossing from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth. The long and slower crossing allowed for this beautiful image to be capture of the Sunset above the Fort and the Isle of Wight.

  9. But in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
  10. The crows line up in a powerful formation on the beach at Hayling Island waiting for the first bit of food to be thrown!

There is a reason we dare not venture into the Abyss.
  12. This photo taken year 2015 we're at Nasugbu Batagas to Celebrate the Despedida of Mothers Friend.
  13. Another view across towards the Isle of Wight, but this time from further along the coast at Selsey Bill.
